Parts of the frond Asplenium x ebenoides.
Asplenium × ebenoides is endemic to eastern North America from Alabama in the south to New Hampshire in the north and Missouri and Arkansas in the west.
The Asplenium × Ebenoides is a small evergreen rock-dwelling fern that grows in separate groups. The leaf blades grow from a dark, shiny stem and have a variable and irregular cut pattern. The bottom of the blade can be cut into feathers or simply into blades of varying lengths, while the top of the blade has blades and ends with a pointed tip that rarely forms a bud that can give rise to new plants. Leaves are slightly dimorphic, fertile leaves are slightly larger and more erect.
