Rhododendron redowskianum is a plant from the genus of rhododendrons. Named after the Russian botanist Ivan Ivanovich Redovsky (1774-1807). In the Far East of Russia, it is distributed in the Primorsky and Khabarovsk territories in the central and northern parts of the Sikhote-Alin, in the Amur region in the upper reaches of the Bureya and Zeya, in the central part of Sakhalin. The smallest of the rhododendrons growing in the Far East.
 
Grows on char, damp rocky talus, in the mountain tundra above the belt of mountain forests. Height - up to 20 cm.The leaves are oval, narrowed to the base (8 - 18 mm in length, 2.5 - 7 mm in width), obtuse, leathery, slightly toothed, along the edges of the cilia, collected at the ends of the shoots, completely fall off for the winter ... The flowers are crimson-purple, up to 1.5 cm in diameter, single or collected 2-3 together. Blooms in July. The fruit is an ovoid capsule (3 - 6 mm in length).
