Adenophora triphylla is a plant up to 100 cm tall. The leaves are whorled, sometimes in a regular order, sessile or on short petioles, elliptical or lanceolate. The flowers are narrow bell-shaped, drooping, blue, up to 1.3 cm in diameter, collected in a multi-flowered panicle.
