Caragana jubata (Astragalus jubata, Robinia jubata) - thorny shrub 0.5-2 m tall, prostrate or erect, with long saber-shaped-curved branches covered with gray or blackish bark, densely deciduous and set with numerous, remaining petioles of leaves, turned into thin spines, 4-7 cm long.
It grows on rocky slopes, in high-altitude steppes and swamps, less often in the shade of coniferous forest near its upper border.
The area is Central Asia (Tien Shan, Alai Range), Arctic Siberia, Eastern Siberia, the Far East, Western China (Dzungaria), Mongolia, Northwestern Tibet.
Blooms in June-July, bears fruit in August - September.
